Die Musikbeilage der „Reise in Brasilien“ von Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius und Johann Baptist von Spix – ein bayerischer Beitrag zur Musikgeschichte Brasiliens Theodor Lachner – eine Vermutung

Abstract

Among the scientific publications resulting from the Bavarian expedition to Brazil between 1817 and 1820 an issue of ‘Modinhas and Indian Melodies’ was published which is the very first printed edition of Brazilian music. Besides its very special context of edition also Goethe plays a major role. Further we are going to discuss Theodor Lachner as potential arranger.
